Before she ever saw a stadium, Kirksville, Missouri native Logan Davis was turning her living room carpet into a main stage. As soon as she could talk, she spent her time singing and dancing through childhood, dreaming of performing in front of huge crowds and being a pop star. She began writing songs and playing piano as a little girl and picked up her dad’s old guitar at 16. Through dance rehearsals, cheer practice, choir concerts, and starring in her school musicals, she wrote and released her first single “Dirty Little Secret” right before her 18th birthday. The following summer, she packed up her closet and moved to Music City to study songwriting and music business.
Written from her desire to map out her feelings while moving, Davis is crafting a narrative and sound nonother than her own. Inspired by the women taking over the pop landscape, as well as hip hop and EDM producers, she describes her music as confident yet confiding, sexy yet serious. She’s introspective with her lyrics but remains relatable to her audience. “Every song has a hint of honesty in it,” she says, “whether I’m writing from my own experiences, a friends, or something made up in my head. A piece of me is in everything I write.”
Collaboration has been a major part of Davis’ success, working with other writers and producers for each song she releases. Beginning with friends Gavin Crowe and Jackson Reeves in a makeshift studio basement in Columbia, Missouri, she has continued that feeling of community and fun within professional recording studios and sessions in Nashville. She’s recently worked with writers and producers such as Maxwell Getz (deadmotel), Lauren Michelle, Skylar Wilson, and countless others. Whether she brings in fully finished lyrics and melodies, or begins fresh with her collaborators, she always hits the ground running.
Her latest single “On the Table,” is a mix of vulnerable inner rhymes with driving bass & synths. The song is playing on multiple Top 40 FM stations and has been included in college radio stations across the Midwest. She filmed her first music video this summer, leaning heavily into the visuals of the track. Currently, you can find Davis in writing sessions across town, working on singles to lead to her first EP. She would also love to make remixes of her released singles, further cementing her place in the pop world.
Beyond music, you can find Davis at her college in Nashville finishing her senior year (maintaining that Dean’s List honor), volunteering as a Blood Donor Ambassador with the American Red Cross, or at the local spots with a DJ. While her hometown will always be rooted in country music, she’s living proof of Nashville's growing diverse music scene. “Sometimes it’s isolating, but I can’t imagine doing any other genre than sassy, confident pop music. I think I was meant to stick out among the noise.”
